Why can’t Ocado simply scale up and employ more people to cope with your increased demand?

While most supermarkets use their network of stores to pick online orders, our orders are picked in three, hi-tech warehouses (or Customer Fulfilment Centres as we call them). All of them are operating 24/7, and we’ve even hired extra colleagues to make sure each one is at maximum capacity. To increase even more capacity we need to build a new warehouse and unfortunately, it’s not possible to build one in a short space of time. We’re really doing everything we can to open up more delivery slots and we continue to work round the clock to get as much food into as many homes as possible.
