Why can’t Ocado simply scale up & employ more people to cope with your increased demand?

We are doing everything we can to open up as many delivery slots as possible. We’re experiencing unprecedented levels of demand, ten times higher than normal. With families at home all week, the average size of orders has grown by more than 50% meaning fewer orders can be picked and transported.

Unlike most supermarkets which use stores to pick online orders, ours are picked in three, hi-tech warehouses. All of them are working 24/7, have hired extra colleagues and are at maximum capacity.

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to put up a new warehouse in a short space of time. We will continue to work round the clock to get as much food to as many homes as possible.
